The programme aims to equip students with knowledge and practical skills related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a particular focus on protecting and safeguarding tangible and intangible cultural heritage, in line with SDG target 11.14. It highlights the connection between cultural heritage protection and other SDGs, including quality education, sustainable tourism, climate action, environmental protection, peaceful societies and international cooperation.
The initiative also underlines the importance of European cultural heritage in strengthening European identity, fostering social cohesion and supporting sustainable economic development through tourism and job creation. Students will work in both national and international teams to design innovative campaigns and tools that promote social and environmental causes, while becoming familiar with agile methodologies such as design thinking and gamification.
The programme is structured in two phases: an online phase, featuring training seminars and teamwork at national level, and a face-to-face mobility phase, where international teams will develop a game concept focused on cultural heritage and sustainability. The project is coordinated by the University of León, with funding from the Erasmus+ programme, and includes cultural and leisure activities alongside academic work.
