Digital Transformation in Cape Verde Featured in International Workshop

As part of the Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility (ICM) programme, ESTG welcomed Emanuel Vieira, lecturer at the University of Mindelo (Cape Verde), for a teaching mobility aimed at promoting academic cooperation and knowledge exchange in the field of Information and Communication Technologies.

During his visit, Professor Emanuel Vieira delivered the international workshop “Digital Transformation in Cape Verde: From Theory to Practice”, providing students with valuable insights into the country’s digital transformation journey and the role of emerging technologies in driving economic and social development.

The workshop explored key topics including digital transformation strategies, the digitalisation of public and private services, current challenges in the adoption of digital solutions, and the growing impact of Artificial Intelligence on organisations and society. Drawing on practical examples and real-world case studies from Cape Verde, participants were encouraged to reflect on how innovative digital solutions can be applied in different contexts and how technology can support institutional and societal progress.

Beyond his teaching activities, Professor Vieira exchanged experiences with ESTG academic staff on innovative teaching methodologies, curriculum development, and opportunities for future collaboration in education and research. The mobility also contributed to the internationalisation of the curriculum by offering students an international perspective on digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity.

This Erasmus+ ICM mobility reinforces the partnership between ESTG and the University of Mindelo, strengthening academic cooperation while promoting the exchange of knowledge, innovative teaching practices, and international perspectives that prepare students for the challenges of an increasingly digital world.
