During her visit, Professor Manjola Naco delivered the international workshop “Investment Risk: Reading the Contract the State Signed”, offering students an in-depth perspective on public investment risk management through the analysis of a real public-private partnership case study. The workshop examined how concession contracts function as instruments of risk governance, encouraging participants to assess financial, legal, operational, and public value implications beyond their legal framework.
Throughout the sessions, students explored internationally recognised risk management frameworks, including COSO Enterprise Risk Management, ISO 31000, and the IMF Fiscal Risk Framework, while developing practical skills in analysing risk allocation, fiscal exposure, accountability, and public sector decision-making. The interactive approach promoted critical thinking and demonstrated how modern risk governance principles can be applied to complex public investment projects.
In addition to her teaching activities, Professor Naco met with ESTG academic staff to exchange experiences on teaching methodologies, curriculum development, and opportunities for future collaboration in research and Erasmus+ initiatives. Her visit contributed to the internationalisation of the curriculum by bringing an international perspective to the fields of investment, public finance, and risk management.
The Erasmus+ ICM mobility further strengthens the partnership between ESTG and the Canadian Institute of Technology, fostering academic excellence, intercultural dialogue, and the development of future collaborative projects between both institutions.
