During his mobility, Professor Matkovski delivered the international workshop “Global Integration of Food Supply Chains”, providing students with an overview of current challenges and emerging trends shaping the global agri-food sector. The workshop explored the evolution of food supply chains, the dynamics of global food markets, and the role of vertical and horizontal integration in improving competitiveness under increasingly uncertain market conditions.
The teaching programme also addressed key topics such as agribusiness management, consumer trends, food marketing, digitalisation in the agri-food sector, and the impact of globalisation on food production and trade. Through lectures, case studies and interactive discussions, students had the opportunity to analyse real-world examples and gain a broader understanding of the economic and strategic factors influencing the agri-food industry.
Beyond his teaching activities, Professor Matkovski met with ESTG academic staff to exchange experiences on teaching methodologies, research activities and future collaboration opportunities. As a member of CIICESI – Centre for Research and Innovation in Business Sciences and Information Systems, his visit also contributed to strengthening existing research links and exploring new joint initiatives in areas of common interest.
This Erasmus+ teaching mobility reinforces ESTG’s commitment to internationalisation by promoting the exchange of knowledge, innovative teaching practices and academic cooperation with partner institutions across Europe, while providing students with valuable international perspectives on contemporary issues in agribusiness and food economics.
