Economics development as a tool for fighting depopulation – Study cases in the province of Almería

The University of Almería offers our students the opportunity to take an Intensive Combined Programme on the theme " Economic development as a tool for fighting depopulation – Study cases in the province of Almería”.

The course focuses on the current problem of the depopulation of rural municipalities on a global and local level. Its objective is to analyse different measures that are being carried out in relation to this problem.The course will be eminently practical. Two of the days will be spent to visit the municipalities of Lubrín and Almócita, both of which are reference points in terms of agri-foodstuffs and ecology.There will also be a visit to the Natural Park of Cabo de Gata and a workshop on how to cut Spanish ham.In addition to Spanish professors and professionals, there will be guest lecturers from Portugal and Germany.

Location of physical activity: Almeria, Spain (University of Almería)

Language requirement for students: English B2

Academic requirements: 1st and 2nd cycle students of Business, Architecture, Law, Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Engineering, and Tourism. Any other areas are welcome, as long as there is available capacity.
