ESTG receives professors from the University WSB Merito Torun to strengthen international cooperation and improve educational practices

Between 2 and 6 June, ESTG had the honour of welcoming Professors Aldona Lipka and Magdalena Kucinska-Glogowska, lecturers at the University WSB Merito Torun in Poland.

The aim of the week-long visit was to strengthen international cooperation relations, promote the exchange of good educational practices and explore new opportunities for improving academic management and teaching quality.

During their visit, the teachers were able to familiarise themselves with ESTG’s administrative and educational processes, understand the international standards applied in the context of the institution and broaden their horizons by learning about the Portuguese educational system, especially with regard to academic management and provision. The visit also aimed to promote ESTG’s international openness and support the development of actions aimed at improving educational effectiveness and teaching quality.

In addition, the experience allowed the WSB Merito Torun professors to learn more about how the Polytechnic of Porto works, to learn about innovative solutions for teaching in multicultural environments and to acquire new knowledge about pedagogical practices that can be applied in their own institution. The interaction between the two universities proved to be an excellent opportunity to exchange experiences and forge closer relationships that could generate future partnerships and joint projects.

The activities carried out during the week included visits to the School of Management and Technology and the School of Education, both schools of the Polytechnic of Porto, with a focus on understanding the administrative procedures involved in serving students and teachers, as well as exploring the practical workings of the faculties. The teachers also had the opportunity to learn about the infrastructure and teaching methodologies used at the institution, with emphasis on the use of new technologies in higher education and the multicultural approach that characterises ESTG’s academic environment.

The main results of the visit include increased practical knowledge of the workings of two important ESTG units, enriched experience in multicultural environments and the development of skills in the area of academic management. In addition, the visit contributed to strengthening ESTG’s international relations and opened up new prospects for future cooperation projects, especially in the field of internationalisation and academic mobility.

ESTG thus reaffirms its commitment to internationalisation, continuing to promote the exchange of experiences with renowned institutions and contributing to the formation of a more globalised and innovative educational environment.
