While at ESTG, César Cuevas actively participated in various academic and research initiatives, collaborating in multidisciplinary discussions and teaching on bachelor’s, master’s and continuing education programmes. The researcher also dedicated himself to developing and teaching specialised content on Lean Six Sigma and Industry 5.0, as well as contributing to curricular units related to production and operations management.
At the same time, the relationship with the business community was one of the strengths of the mobility, promoting dialogue with professionals in the sector on the practical application of the methodologies covered and exploring opportunities for knowledge transfer between academia and industry. In this context, the future training needs imposed by the evolution of the Industry 5.0 paradigm were also debated.
In the field of research, the presence of César Cuevas made it possible to launch proposals for new joint projects and identify possibilities for collaboration on scientific publications. The interdisciplinary approach adopted, which crosses engineering, economics, sociology and environmental studies, reinforces the commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGS) and values the practical application of knowledge, in line with the institutional strategies for internationalisation, education and innovation.
This mobility programme also stands out for the boost it has given to the creation of academic networks, for deepening research into the correlation between Industry 5.0 and Lean Six Sigma and for laying solid foundations for future projects. ESTG also intends to extend these initiatives by involving students in research projects and developing mechanisms to ensure the long-term sustainability of the collaboration, with a monitoring and evaluation plan that includes progress reports, detailed documentation and the publication of results at conferences and workshops.
César Cuevas’s presence at ESTG thus represents another step towards affirming the school as a dynamic higher education institution committed to academic excellence and strengthening international ties in teaching and research.
