Let’s collaborate on real-world, meaningful HSE risk assessment and management in multicultural teams
Who can participate in the BIP?
Students (Bachelor’s and Master’s level, particularly in HSE, safety engineering, industrial safety and related fields) from Erasmus+ partner universities.
Language of instruction: English.
Where is the BIP located?
Ostrava, Czech Republic – the capital of the Moravian-Silesian Region. As part of the programme, participants will also have the opportunity to explore unique cultural and industrial heritage sites.
Preliminary programme
A well-balanced mix of collaborative international project-based learning, combining online and on-site activities, theoretical and practical approaches, and real-world projects from STANT company.
Pre-online sessions
Getting to know each other, setting expectations, forming international teams, and attending preparatory lectures and workshops.
Date & time: early November, 2–3 afternoons, 1.5 h each. Exact dates will be confirmed.
Face-to-face:
. Risk assessment workshops.
. XVR simulations in the Center for Simulation Technologies (CESIT).
. STANT site visit and meetings with the HSE team.
. Team project work (PBL) on safety and ergonomics topics.
Date & time: Ostrava, 17–21 November 2025. (Arrival 16–17 November, departure 21-22 November)
Social programme: Welcome drink (16 November), informal get- together (19 November), farewell gathering (21 November).
Post-online sessions
Reflection, evaluation, and feedback.
Date & time: 24–28 November, 1–2 afternoons, 1.5 h each. Exact dates will be confirmed.
FURTHER PRACTICAL INFO
Accommodation:
Pre-booked rooms are available at VSB-TUO hotel Garni. Details will be provided to accepted participants.
Travel information:
Practical guidelines on how to reach Ostrava and the VSB-TUO campus will be shared after selection.
Meals:
Students can use the university canteen or nearby restaurants. Affordable dining options are available on campus.
Recognition of participation

Accommodation:
For each of you, we booked accommodation in the Hotel Garni (double rooms and single rooms, shared bathroom for two rooms), which is located on the main university campus (25 min from the Faculty by tram).
The price is 840 CZK/one person/one night, including breakfast and city tax.
