Significant changes took place in the food market in the previous decade. The European Union has adopted the Farm to Fork strategy to transform food production, focusing on environmental sustainability. Will these changes lead to market instability? Should such EU aspirations be seen as an opportunity for new business development? Certainly, technological solutions that will contribute to the sustainability of food production are being sought rapidly.
Invited Speaker: Danilo Đokić – University of Novi Sad, Faculty of Economics in Subotica, Serbia
Dr Danilo Đokić is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Economics in Subotica, University of Novi Sad. In 2021, he defended PhD thesis entitled “Production Performances of Agriculture and Agricultural Policy of the Western Balkan Countries in the Process of Accession to the European Union”. His main fields of interest are Agricultural policy, Agricultural Economics, Productivity analysis, Rural Development and Policy, and Agri-environmental Economics.
Over the past five years, his primary research themes have centered around the competitiveness of the agri-food sector and agri-environmental economics. He is the coordinator of the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence: Sustainable Agriculture for a Greener Future – AgriGREEN.
