Mobility report by Jorge Barros & André Dias

Jorge Barros & André Dias @ Mykolas Romeris University

. What was the most memorable moment for you?

It’s truly difficult to pick just one standout moment from our time in Vilnius, but if I had to choose, the late-night dinners with fellow Erasmus students and our outings to +++ Gastrobaras hold a special place in our memories.

. Do you plan on coming back to the country/city where you did your ERASMUS mobility programme?

We definitely plan on coming back to Vilnius. Our time there was truly enriching, and we grew to really appreciate the city’s unique charm and vibrant culture. The connections we made and the experiences we had have stayed with us. While we don’t have any immediate plans, we’re very open to returning in the future, whether it’s for work, further exploration, or just to revisit the places and people that made our Erasmus experience so special.

. What stereotype or misconception about your host country/city that you’ve come to realize isn’t true?

Before arriving in Lithuania, we had heard the stereotype that the country is cold and unwelcoming, both in terms of climate and the nature of its people. However, our experience completely dispelled this misconception. While the winters can indeed be chilly, we found the people of Vilnius to be incredibly warm, friendly, and open to engaging with international students. The sense of community, especially within the Erasmus network, was strong and welcoming.

. If you could only use 3 words to describe your experience at ESTG/your host university, what would they be?

Enriching, memorable and challenging.
