This project aims to develop future entrepreneurs through the programme called ‘NextGen Entrepreneurs’. The programme is being developed by four higher education institutions: AKADEMIA WSB (Poland), Istanbul Aydin University (Turkey), Romanian-American University (Romania), and our school. The Businet (Belgium) took part in this meeting as an external specialist with expertise in supporting the dissemination of international projects.
This programme promotes the power of challenge-based learning with the aim of creating an entrepreneurial mindset among the students involved, through real business challenges, workshops and contact with industry experts. With the programme, participants can acquire the skills, knowledge and confidence needed to turn ideas into successful businesses.
During this session, the participants had the opportunity to get to know ESTG and attend a talk by Mário Cruz and Ricardo Queirós from the Centre for Pedagogical Innovation of the Polytechnic of Porto, where they discussed the integration of digital tools and experiences in challenge-based learning to empower the entrepreneurs of the future generation. They were also able to attend a presentation by Istanbul Aydin University.
Various teaching methodologies used in different curricular units of ESTG’s Business Sciences department were presented, with the presence of lecturers Adriano Andreghetto, Amélia Carvalho, Fernanda Leão, Olga Pereira, Telma Mendes and Tiago Cunha. The methodologies were presented and the discussion centred on the potential for using these methodologies in this project, and the participants gave feedback on the methodologies presented earlier, and discussed practical learning strategies based on real challenges. The project team also had the opportunity to visit a footwear company in the region – NOBRAND, and the factory of Pão de Ló in Margaride, Felgueiras.
We would like to thank all the participants for their visit and hope that this project will be fruitful.
